Who will win the SEC East this season?

Phil Steele thinks that’s an easy question to answer this year as the longtime college football guru has Georgia reclaiming dominance in the division with Florida taking a step back on the field this season.

But it isn’t all bad news for the Gators as Steele believes Dan Mullen’s latest team will be the second-best team in the division in 2021.

Here is what Steele had to say about the Georgia-Florida rivalry during a recent appearance on “The Paul Finebaum Show” on Wednesday.

“Florida, they only get three SEC home games, they draw Alabama and LSU,” Steele said on the show. “And it’s not last year’s LSU they’re drawing. It’s this year’s LSU they’re drawing and they’ve got to play them in Baton Rouge.

“They also draw a couple of other tough games like Georgia at a neutral site. Florida’s in a little bit of a rebuilding mode with only five starters back (on offense) and five on defense. But they are the number two team in the east.”

That’s likely going to be the consensus pick this preseason in the East but predictions like that could end up adding fuel to the Gators’ fire this offseason in anticipation for the coming season.
