Rara Thomas, former Mississippi State WR, announces SEC transfer commitment
Rara Thomas will continue to be a Bulldog. The former Mississippi State wide receiver is transferring to Georgia.

Thomas was Mississippi State’s leading pass-catcher in 2022. In 12 games, Thomas had 44 catches for 626 yards and 7 touchdowns. He was fourth among all SEC receivers with the 7 scores. Highlights of Thomas’ 2022 season include a career-high 134 yards against Texas A&M and catching the go-ahead touchdown in the Bulldogs’ 24-22 Egg Bowl win over Ole Miss.
Thomas, originally from Eufaula, Alabama, joined MSU in 2021. As a freshman, he had 18 catches for 252 yards and 5 TDs.
This season, Brock Bowers led the Georgia receiving corps with 52 catches for 726 yards and 6 TDs. Ladd McConkey was UGA’s top wideout with 51 catches for 675 yards and 5 scores.
Thomas has played 2 seasons with 2 remaining full seasons of eligibility as he heads to Athens. He will be NFL Draft eligible after the 2023 season.
