According to a report by Rusty Mansell of 247Sports, Georgia staff member Olten Downs is heading to Georgia Southern.

Downs has served as Georgia’s Assistant Director of Player Development in 2016, and he’s joining the Georgia Southern staff as a safeties coach.

Downs previously served as the defensive coordinator at Carver-Columbus High School from 2006-10, and the head coach at Creekside High School from 2013-14, where he led his team to a Class AAAAA state title in 2013 and two regional championships.

Downs played football at Tennessee State and graduated in 2006 with a degree in Political Science.
