Mondon’s return is huge news for a Georgia team that will hope to contend for the national championship again next season. Mondon likely had opportunities to turn pro this offseason, but will instead play in Athens for another season.
Mondon just finished his 3rd campaign in Athens. He amassed 68 tackles, 5 tackles for loss and 3 sacks in 13 games. Mondon will return for his 4th campaign with the Bulldogs and is expected to be one of the leaders on UGA’s defense next season.
Mondon originally signed with Georgia as a 5-star prospect in the class of 2021.
Georgia is preparing to face Florida State in the Orange Bowl to cap off the 2023 regular season. Kickoff for that game is set for 4 p.m. ET on Dec. 30.
