Stetson Bennett admits that he’s aware of the criticism directed toward him, but he focuses on the task at hand, and that’s doing his best to lead the Georgia offense.

Speaking at a media availability on Tuesday, Bennett was asked about the criticism around his performance at quarterback for Georgia.

“Why would I listen to someone who doesn’t do this for a living,” Bennett said. “It doesn’t bother me. It’s frustrating at times… but all I’m thinking about is being the best QB for my team.”

Offensive coordinator Todd Monken put it succinctly.

“The reason Stetson Bennett plays is we think he gives us the best chance to win,” Monken said. “That’s really the answer to that question. “… There is no doubt in my mind we can win the national championship. And there is no doubt in my mind we can win the national championship with Stetson Bennett.”

Monken also added that Bennett’s body of work this season kept him in games even when he wasn’t playing well.

Monken added that he expects wide receiver George Pickens to play in the Orange Bowl.
