Sugar Bowl action between Georgia and Notre Dame has been moved off of New Year’s Day after tragedy struck New Orleans overnight. Now, the game — originally postponed 24 hours to Thursday night — could be getting bumped up to Thursday afternoon.

An overnight suspected terror attack rocked Bourbon Street and the city of New Orleans, claiming the lives of at least 10 people. Sugar Boal and New Orleans officials made the decision to postpone the College Football Playoff quarterfinal 24 hours from its original 8:45 pm ET kickoff on Wednesday night as a result, but both teams have reportedly been requesting that time moved up earlier in the day.

Now, there is a formal discussion revolving around moving the game up to a 4 pm ET/3 pm CT kickoff, according to a report from Ross Dellenger with Yahoo Sports. Dellenger also reports that is the expected new time but also noted conversations are ongoing.
