When there’s a will, there’s a way … and Southern football player Devon Gales has shown tremendous fight.

Gales and his family will attend Saturday night’s Georgia Southern-Georgia game in Athens, almost two months after Gales broke his sixth cervical vertebra after colliding with Bulldogs kicker Marshall Morgan while trying to make a block.

Gales has been stationed at The Shepherd Center in Atlanta for several weeks since successful surgery in Athens to repair spinal fractures in his neck.

Gales told DawgNation that he wanted to “show appreciation to all the Georgia people who have supported me”, a lengthy list that includes Bulldogs coach Mark Richt and Georgia Athletic Director Greg McGarity at the top.

On behalf of SEC fans across the nation, we’re pulling for you, Devon. Continue to fight.
