Xavian Sorey Jr. was once a 5-star linebacker prospect coming to Georgia. Now, he’s on the move via the transfer portal after 3 seasons in Athens.

Tuesday evening, Sorey confirmed he’s sticking in the SEC while committing to Sam Pittman and Arkansas. He joins a strong transfer group for the Razorbacks with 8 players currently committed to Arkansas this offseason.

Sorey was a 5-star recruit per the 247 Sports Composite as the No. 2 LB available in the 2021 recruiting class. He came to Athens with high expectations but never quite lived up to that potential.

His most extensive playing time came in 2023 when he set career-high numbers with 19 tackles, 1.5 TFL and 1 sack. Sorey finishes with 24 total tackles, 2.5 TFL, a sack and an interception but most recently contributed 5 solo tackles in the SEC Championship loss to Alabama.

Sorey should be a solid addition to the Arkansas defense heading into the 2024 season.
