ESPN’s FPI is projecting the full results of the 2023 college football season, and the system has predicted every game on Kentucky’s schedule.

When it comes to competing in the SEC East, the Wildcats are a longshot, to say the least. The Football Power Index gives Kentucky just a 3.2% chance to win the division.

Those low odds are no surprise with 2-time defending national champion Georgia firmly entrenched at the top of the division with the Bulldogs the overwhelming favorite in the SEC Championship odds. Interested Wildcat fans can get in on the odds with the use of our Bet365 Ketucky promo code.

In terms of the game-by-game outlook, the FPI does give Kentucky a solid shot at a hot start to the season. The SEC opener for the Wildcats is also against Vanderbilt, so Mark Stoops’ program gets a solid shot at a 4-0 start before the SEC slate heats up.

Here are the full FPI projections:

  • Sept. 2 vs. Ball State — 91.3%
  • Sept. 9 vs. EKU — 98.5%
  • Sept. 16 vs. Akron — 95.8%
  • Sept. 23 at Vanderbilt — 74.4%
  • Sept. 30 vs. Florida — 51.3%
  • Oct. 7 at Georgia — 9.7%
  • Oct. 14 vs. Mizzou — 65.9%
  • Oct. 28 vs. Tennessee — 46.9%
  • Nov. 4 at Mississippi State — 49.3%
  • Nov. 11 vs. Alabama — 15.8%
  • Nov. 18 at South Carolina — 53.8%
  • Nov. 25 at Louisville — 57.2%

At the end of the day, it’s a tough slate for Kentucky. However, a hot start to the season with QB Devin Leary getting his feet under him early could position the Wildcats for an upset or two down the stretch of the season.
