Hubert Davis praises Kentucky’s toughness, says there are several Cats who ‘create their own shot’
Hubert Davis and his North Carolina Tar Heels suffered a tough loss on Saturday against the Kentucky Wildcats.
The blue bloods battled in Atlanta, and the Wildcats escaped with an 87-83 victory.
After the game, Davis specifically credited the Wildcats’ ability to create shots.
North Carolina coach Hubert Davis on Kentucky: “They have a number of players that can create their own shot in one-on-one situations. From a defensive standpoint, they had to make some tough shots in one-on-one and down the stretch they were able to do that.” #BBN #ukbasketball

Davis also praised Kentucky’s toughness, saying the Wildcats were “tougher than us in the trenches.” The Wildcats outrebounded the Tar Heels by 11 and had 4 more blocks.
North Carolina coach Hubert Davis: “Kentucky was tougher than us in the trenches, and in order to win games like this, you’ve got to win in the paint.”

With 6 seconds in the game and the Tar Heels down by 3, guard Elliot Cadeau turned the ball over, which essentially ended the Tar Heels’ chances. The Tar Heels had 17 turnovers in total. Davis was mum on the mistake, simply saying “we turned the ball over.”
Hubert Davis, asked about the play design down 3 with 11 seconds (which became the Elliot Cadeau turnover):
“We turned the ball over.” Notes how UNC had 17 turnovers, and that was one of them.
