Having been at Kentucky since 2009, Wildcats basketball coach John Calipari is familiar with every SEC program. On Saturday, however, he seemed unamused by a Tennessee effort to avoid wasting paper and zinged UT.

During the postgame press conference of UK’s 77-64 win over the Volunteers in Knoxville, Calipari wanted to look at his team’s three-point stats. When he looked at the stat sheet, he only saw the first-half stats, unaware there were stats on the back as well.

“What did we do from the 3-point line today?” Calipari said into his microphone. “Three for seven. Is this the halftime score? Someone gave me a halftime (box score). That’s pretty good. Anyone want to know what happened at halftime.”

He was then informed the final stats were on the back of the page.

“Oh, so they are really cheap here at Tennessee,” Calipari joked.

Bradley McKee captured the moment on video and shared it via Twitter, declaring “Swaggy Cal is back!”

Kentucky certainly looks geared for another March Madness run as Cal’s Cats are now 18-5 overall and 8-2 in SEC play. That comment against conserving paper, however, won’t have any environmentally-conscious basketball fans jumping on the Big Blue bandwagon.
