Your view of Kentucky’s schedule hinges on whether you consider a glass half full or half empty.

On the one hand, 10 of the Wildcats 12 opponents this season advanced to postseason play last year.

But, on the other, UK will be afforded the luxury of playing eight of those squads in the friendly confines of a newly-renovated Commonwealth Stadium. This year marks only the second time in school history that UK will play that many home games.

The only question remaining is whether this will translate into a bowl appearance and Kentucky’s first winning season since 2009.

Here’s a breakdown of the Wildcats’ history against every opponent on this year’s schedule.

2015 record according to history: 6-4-1*
Most unfamiliar opponent: Louisiana-Lafayette, Charlotte (tie)
Most familiar opponent: Tennessee
Most lopsided series: Eastern Kentucky

*Based on which teams hold an all-time series advantage.

Sept. 5: vs. Louisiana-Lafayette

You can bet that third-year coach Mark Stoops won’t overlook a Ragin’ Cajuns team that returns 52 lettermen from last year’s squad that went 9-4 en route to beating Nevada in the Carriers New Orleans Bowl.

Series history: This is the first meeting between the schools.

Sept. 12: at South Carolina

The SEC opener for both teams could set the tone for the rest of the season. UK won last year’s meeting after Alvin “Bud” Dupree returned an interception six yards for a touchdown with 2:29 left. That capped an improbable Wildcats comeback from 14 points down in the fourth quarter in Columbia.

Series history: South Carolina leads, 17-8-1.

Sept. 19: vs. Florida

Kentucky fans still have nightmares about the 36-30 triple-overtime loss to the Gators a year ago in which they were one stop away from ending one of college football’s most lopsided rivalries. The Wildcats would love nothing more than to erase that bitter taste and snap the Gators’ run of 28 consecutive wins at their expense.

Series history: Florida leads, 48-17. The Gators have won the last 28 meetings and 34 of the previous 35.

Sept. 26: vs. Missouri

Kentucky rallied late, but the Tigers held on for a 20-10 win a year ago. Missouri has won all three meetings against UK since joining the SEC.

Series history: Missouri leads, 3-2.

Oct. 3: vs. Eastern Kentucky

The Colonels, a Football Championship Series team, went 9-4 a year ago, but a lack of great and depth could be a factor. This is the first meeting between the two neighboring schools since 2009.

Series history: Kentucky leads, 3-0.

Oct. 15: vs. Auburn

This will be the first meeting of the two teams since Auburn escaped Lexington with a thrilling 37-34 decision in 2010. The Tigers have won 16 of the last 17 matchups.

Series history: Auburn leads, 25-6-1.

Oct. 24: at Mississippi State

Kentucky rolled up 504 yards in total offense behind the arm of QB Patrick Towles in last year’s meeting in Lexington, but it wasn’t enough. Bulldogs QB Dak Prescott passed for 216 yards and one touchdown and ran for 88 yards and two scores as Mississippi State pulled away for the 45-31 win.

Series history: The series is tied, 21-21.

Oct. 31: vs. Tennessee

QB Joshua Dobbs passed for 297 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 48 yards and another score as the Vols jumped ahead early and cruised to the 50-16 victory in Knoxville last year.

Series history: Tennessee leads, 77-24-9, in a series that dates back to 1893.

Nov. 7: at Georgia

The Bulldogs wasted little time taking control of last year’s meeting, jumping 21-0 within the game’s first 10 minutes en route to a 63-31 pasting at Commonwealth Stadium. UGA has now won seven of the last eight meetings.

Series history: Georgia leads, 54-12-2.

Nov. 14: at Vanderbilt

The Kentucky defense registered three interceptions and four sacks in limiting the Commodores to 139 yards of total offense in winning last year’s meeting in Lexington, 17-7. The 139 yards allowed was UK’s best defensive effort in SEC play since limiting Vandy to just 91 yards in 1996.

Series history: Kentucky leads, 42-41-4, in a series that dates back to 1896.

Nov. 21: vs. Charlotte

Expect some growing pains for the 49ers in their first year of Football Bowl Subdivision play as a member of Conference USA. Kentucky shouldn’t have much of a problem here.

Series history: This is the first meeting between the schools.

Nov. 28: Louisville

The annual regular-season finale between state rivals is always cause for excitement in the Bluegrass State. The Cardinals won a thriller last year, escaping Commonwealth Stadium with a 44-40 win after Brandon Radcliff scored from 4 yards out with 2:47 remaining. Freshman Stanley “Boom” Williams rushed for 126 yards and two touchdowns for the Wildcats.

Series history: Kentucky leads, 14-13.
