One of the country’s most coveted basketball recruits in the class of 2022 has shut down his recruitment.

Skyy Clark, a combo guard from California, announced Thursday live on Instagram that he has committed to Kentucky. He is the first pledge from the class of 2022 for John Calipari.

According to 247Sports, Clark is the country’s No. 14 player in the class of 2022, regardless of position. He is also considered the No. 3 combo guard nationally.

Memphis, North Carolina and UCLA were his other finalists, but Clark was thought to be a heavy Kentucky lean all along. Out of 9 predictions on 247’s Crystal Ball feature, all 9 were for the Wildcats.

A star at Heritage Christian School in California last season, Clark transferred to Brentwood Academy in Tennessee in the offseason. While on the West Coast, he was an AAU teammate of heralded recruit Bronny James, son of LeBron James.

The 6-foot-3-inch, 200-pounder averaged 25.5 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.2 assists as a sophomore at Heritage Christian.
