Mark Stoops responds to his name being mentioned for potential Miami opening
Mark Stoops has Kentucky off to a 6-1 start and ranked 12th in the AP top-25.
The job he has done this year and over the course of the last few seasons has college football analysts speculating that Stoops could be in a line for a bigger job this offseason.
One such potential opening that Stoops has been attached to is Miami, where head coach Manny Diaz is on the hot seat.
During his weekly press conference Monday, Stoops was asked about his name coming up in connection with a potential opening in Coral Gables.
He declined to discuss the rumors, saying, “I’m not getting into that.”

Stoops did, however, add that there is one benefit to having your name connected to other jobs.
“I would rather have it this way than saying you are trying to run me out of here,” he joked.
Stoops says he is not getting into speculation about why he may or may not stay at UK or leave for open jobs. "I would rather have it this way than saying you are trying to run me out of here."
