It’s been quite the seven days for Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops.

First he had to defend the football program from Wildcats basketball coach John Calipari after Calipari called Kentucky a “basketball school”.

The two coaches talked about out and as soon as that beef was squashed another one was started with South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer after it appeared that Stoops was throwing some shade in his direction during an interview recently shared by the SEC Network:

“It’s easy to change the climate, you just change a uniform, talk a little game, dance around, put on some stupid sunglasses, you can change a climate,” Stoops said. “But to change a culture is at the core, and I’m quite certain we’ve changed our culture. Just who we are and how we’re perceived. Walk around with some of the greatest coaches and that respect you get, and the respect our players carry with them.”

Beamer went viral for a video sporting sunglasses in a mock music video made for social media.

Naturally, the Twitterverse went all on the prospects over another coaching feud in the SEC.

But everyone needs to go in their respective corners again because Stoops said that the comments had nothing to do with the Gamecocks coach.

See? Just all a misunderstanding right?

Kentucky hosts South Carolina at Kroger Field on Oct. 8. Maybe there will be a free sunglasses giveaway for the crowd.
