Everyone loves an underdog story. According to Chris Doering, the Kentucky Wildcats just might get a fairy tale season.

The ESPN/SEC Network analyst is predicting that Kentucky will have an 11-1 season, including an upset against reigning national champs Georgia.

He broke down his game-by-game projections for the Wildcats on the SEC Network this week:

What does Kentucky need to do to turn this fantasy into a reality? According to ESPN’s Chris Low, “The Wildcats have to find a way to be more consistent in defending the pass, and that’s not all on the secondary, either. Several defensive back contributors from a year ago are gone, and emerging talent Vito Tisdale also suffered a season-ending injury in the spring.”

Depth presents a potential stumbling block to this magical season for Kentucky. The Wildcats will start three all new linemen on defense, while the offense lost WR Wan’Dale Robinson to the draft. Talented RB Chris Rodriguez’s season is also in question, as he was arrested and pleaded guilty to a DUI in July. Kentucky will have its first test when they kick off against Miami (OH) on Saturday, Sept. 3.
