Arden Key explains why he didn't run the 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine

LSU DE/OLB Arden Key is one of the most intriguing prospects in the 2018 NFL Draft class, but he has a lot to answer for.

His junior year in 2017 didn’t go according to plan, due to injuries and other off-field issues. However, his 2016 stats (including 11 sacks) make him a borderline first-round talent.

At the NFL Combine this weekend, Key didn’t run the 40-yard dash, explaining that an injury is still causing him discomfort:

Key said he will run the 40 at #LSU Pro Day. Will participate in all other drills today at the combine.

NFL teams won’t like that an injury like that is lingering, but it’ll be interesting to see how he fares at his Pro Day.

If he has a big performance, he could still be in the first round in April. For now, though, he is giving teams more reasons to question him.
