Brian Kelly gave a tough evaluation of Jayden Daniels after the loss to Alabama on Saturday night.

Daniels had a big game, especially on the ground, as he rang up 11 carries for 163 yards and a touchdown. He was 15-for-24 passing for 219 yards, 2 touchdowns and an interception. For much of the game, he went toe-to-toe with Alabama’s Jalen Milroe, who had 4 rushing touchdowns himself.

“I think he’s indicative of what I’m talking about,” Kelly said. “I mean, you know he was good tonight. He wasn’t you know, he wasn’t great. He would like to be considered great every week. He was good. He was good. He was really good. And he’s tough.”

Kelly acknowledged the runs, but noted that there was more out there.

“And the runs that he had tonight were, you know, outstanding runs that kept drives alive,” Kelly said. “I mean, if he’s not out there we were not even in the game. I mean, he made a difference. But I’m sure there’s gonna be some things that he would like to do better as well.”
