Earlier this week, LSU pass rusher K’Lavon Chaisson called out Texas QB Sam Ehlinger, saying he didn’t think the Longhorns quarterback could beat the Tigers by passing.

While the Tigers left Austin with a 45-38 win, Chaisson changed his tune after the game, praising the Texas quarterback for his career-high 401 passing yards.

Chaisson said after the win that Ehlinger proved him wrong, adding that he never said the Texas QB was a bad player (via 247Sports):

“I made a comment that the quarterback couldn’t beat us throwing,” Chaisson said after the game. “He proved me wrong today. I never thought Sam was a bad quarterback. I thought he was a better runner than passer and he showed different today with 400-something yards passing.”

Chaisson had a good game, too, recording 5 tackles and a sack for his team in the huge victory.

However, it’s clear he has even more respect for Ehlinger now, both as a passer and a runner.
