The LSU Tigers came up just short in the Citrus Bowl against Notre Dame, but RB Derrius Guice did all he could to bring home a win.

The Fighting Irish came away with a 21-17 win after scoring the go-ahead touchdown on an incredible play with 1:28 left to go. LSU was unable to answer and ended its season with a record of 9-4.

Guice continued his phenomenal play in the bowl game and nearly willed the team to victory. He finished with 98 yards rushing on 21 carries and caught three passes for 24 yards and 2 TDs. That stat line alone is impressive, but PFF College Football‘s breakdown of his performance shows just how special Guice’s afternoon was.

Guice forced seven missed tackles on his carries against the Notre Dame defense, and the majority of Guice’s yards came after contact. 81 of his 98 rushing yards remarkably came after contact.

Here’s the graphic of his work:

Guice responded to the tweet from PFF College Football just to say that he truly left it all on the field against the Irish:

Fans will now have to wait and see if Guice returns to LSU for his senior season or decides to leave for the NFL Draft.
