Despite the announcement of him parting ways with the LSU Tigers a few weeks ago, head coach Ed Orgeron still continues to recruit for the Tigers.

Orgeron talked about his loyalty to the program and the Alabama game during his regular appearance on “Off the Bench” on 104.5 FM ESPN on Tuesday morning.

“I’ve been recruiting some of these young men for 3 years and my tune’s not going to change,” he said. “I love LSU and I think LSU is a great school, especially for the in-state player and that he ought to come to LSU and I told every one of them that. Still think that LSU’s the best place for them.”

He also talked about the health of his football team going into the Alabama game Saturday and what players will have to step up.

“Greg Penn III, but you know some others, Raydarious Jones, he’s going to have to play, Pig Cage, our guy from Nicholls State has done a great job, he may have to play some at nickel, we have to play those guys,” he said. “Then Tre Bradford is finally eligible, is finally healthy, so let’s see what he can do this week.”
