Ed Orgeron provides update after LSU DB Derek Stingley Jr. missed media portion of practice
LSU freshman DB Derek Stingley Jr. is quickly becoming a star for the Tigers. He entered this year as a highly touted recruit and has shown flashes of brilliance.
Naturally, some hackles were raised when it was reported that Stingley was absent from the media viewing portion of Wednesday’s practice.
However, during his radio show on Wednesday night, coach Ed Orgeron said Stingley will be in there against Florida on Saturday night:
#LSU freshman CB Derek Stingley wasn’t at the media portion of practice today, but Ed Orgeron just said on his radio show that all is well.
Orgeron: “Derek will be fine on Saturday night, I promise you that, buddy!”

Stingley has played in all 5 games for the Tigers thus far, recording 12 tackles, 2 interceptions and 8 pass breakups.
He’ll be a key player in the secondary against Florida on Saturday night, so we’ll see if he’s fully healthy for the game.
