As Leonard Fournette heads into what will likely be his last home game at LSU, interim coach Ed Orgeron took some time to reflect on the star running back.

Orgeron was asked during Wednesday’s SEC coaches teleconference about his initial thoughts on Fournette and how he sees the junior now.

“His practice habits, how tough he is to tackle,” Oregon said. “(Last year’s) Auburn game sticks out to me. It was one of the most dominant games I’ve ever seen. He’s the most best players I’ve ever been around.”

Fournette entered this season with Heisman hopes, but a nagging high ankle/sprain bruise has held him out of three games. Despite that, the junior is still projected to be a top-five pick in the NFL draft.

The New Orleans native has reportedly played through soreness, giving Orgeron something else to gush about.

“It means a lot, he puts his team first,” Orgeron said. “He loves Louisiana.”
