For any interested defensive backs with immediate eligibility for 2020, DBU has an opening.

During his Tuesday virtual press conference, LSU coach Ed Orgeron said he’s looking at the transfer portal to help with depth in the Tigers secondary.

“We’re currently researching a corner or nickel corner out there and is available we’ll take him and use him out there,” Orgeron said. “We’re a little short. We’re icing a couple of guys with hamstrings. Nothing major.”

In addition to the “guys with hamstrings,” LSU also lost starting nickel Kary Vincent Jr. The defensive back opted out of the 2020 season to begin training for the 2021 NFL Draft.

This close to the start of the season, LSU probably doesn’t want to wait on the NCAA’s inconsistent waiver process and would likely need the defensive back to be a graduate transfer with immediate eligibility. It’s certainly an intriguing opportunity to play in the SEC.
