ESPN’s Football Power Index predicts every game on LSU’s 2023 schedule

ESPN’s Football Power Index has a prediction for every game on the 2023 schedule for LSU.
LSU posted a 10-4 mark and reached the SEC title game last season in head coach Brian Kelly’s inaugural campaign, capped off with a 63-7 blowout vs. Purdue in the Citrus Bowl.
This season, LSU has 4 games against opponents ranked in the initial AP Poll. Those contests are vs. No. 8 Florida State (Sept. 3, neutral site), at No. 22 Ole Miss (Sept. 30), at No. 4 Alabama (Nov. 4), and vs. No. 23 Texas A&M (Nov. 25).

LSU has at least 77% odds to win in 9 contests. The Tigers are projected for 9.4 wins by the FPI. The lone game in which they’re underdogs is the Nov. 4 contest at Alabama with a 27.1% chance. The FPI gives LSU 23.6% odds of capturing the SEC West.
This season will be the 11th meeting between LSU and Florida State. Florida State leads the all-time series 8-2, with a 5-game winning streak vs. LSU. LSU’s last victory against Florida State came in 1982.
