Gary Danielson called Ole Miss’ 31-17 win over LSU Saturday in Oxford, and it was one of the last times Danielson will see Ed Orgeron in the purple and gold.

Orgeron only has 4 regular season games left in his LSU head coaching tenure before another head coach replaces him. Orgeron and LSU came to a mutual separation agreement last Sunday.

What does the future hold for Orgeron? Danielson believes he’ll be coaching again soon.

“He will get a coaching job again because he can recruit,” Danielson said to play-by-play man Brad Nessler on the CBS Sports broadcast. “Might not be a head coaching job.”

Following the announcement that Orgeron won’t return in 2022, he said he doesn’t plan to coach in 2022 anywhere.

“You asked me today, I think I’m not going to coach,” Orgeron said about his immediate future. “But that might be different a month from now.”

Orgeron’s problem hasn’t been recruiting; LSU recruits itself. He’s also known as an elite recruiter, too. So, yes, Orgeron certainly can recruit and would be an asset on another SEC staff or other college football staff in the near-future.
