One LSU graduate has had enough and is taking action to get his school an updated library.

Following the opening of LSU’s new $28 million dollar football locker room, Ginger Gibson Burk has started a GoFundMe campaign looking to raise $20 million to renovate the school’s library. While the posting does not directly reference the opening of LSU’s new locker room, it does mention the football team’s “world-class facilities” on campus.

While the vast majority of the reaction to LSU’s new locker room has been positive, some have called into question if LSU really needed a new locker room. It should be noted that the school did not use any reserves to build the locker room, all the money came from private donors for the purposes of building the new facility.

Here is Burk’s plea to LSU alumni on the GoFundMe page:

“It is time the alumni of Louisiana State University took matters into our own hands. For far too long, one of the schools most important assets – the library – has been neglected. The building is crumbling before our eyes. It doesn’t just house books and microfilm and computers, it is the center of our quad and the center of our education. It is the place we studied, met friends, worked on group projects, crammed for finals and took refuge on those hot days when we just needed a break,” said Burk.

So far, $2,302 of the $20 million has been raised by the campaign.
