Hal Mumme isn’t doing himself any favors in Louisiana. Following a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, in which he publicly challenged the motives of LSU and head coach Ed Orgeron, Mumme is now taking his grievances to the radio waves.

The cancellation of satellite camps inside Louisiana is at the heart of Mumme’s complaints. The former Kentucky coach, who now leads Belhaven, was scheduled to attend two camps that were canceled. According to Mumme, Orgeron is to blame for the cancellation following some backdoor politicking.

During a Thursday morning interview with Birmingham’s Sportstalk 99.1 FM The Game, Mumme claimed he is so upset, he has even turned the LSU coach in to the NCAA for a violation. It isn’t clear what rule, if any, Orgeron is breaking and Mumme did not clarify any specific violations that may have occurred.

“I’ve turned him in to the NCAA. I think the NCAA should go down there and look at that,” Mumme said on the air. “I don’t see how a public figure at an SEC school can basically extort people into not using their facilities for the public good.”

That isn’t all Mumme had to say, as he continued to go off on Orgeron during the interview.

It’s worth noting that Texas head coach Tom Herman was scheduled to also attend the camps inside Louisiana along with Mumme. Considering Herman picked Texas over LSU last November, that factor may very well be playing into the attempt to lock the Longhorns out of Louisiana.
