Jayden Daniels left the game against Alabama after he absorbed a bone-crushing hit from Dallas Turner with  12:54 left in the game.

Daniels rolled over and tapped his right foot on the ground, after it appeared Turner’s helmet hit Daniels under the chin, and he landed on top of Daniels as a flag came in for roughing the passer. Daniels was checked by medical personnel, who felt around his chin for damage. Garrett Nussmeier briefly replaced Daniels, but the starter came back in the game after just 1 play.

It came with Alabama up 42-28 and it briefly snuffed out hopes of LSU’s comeback. However, Daniels returned only for LSU to commit a false start penalty, then LSU used a timeout, and Nussmeier came back in the game. Alabama then called timeout ahead of a key 3rd down play.

Daniels returned to the LSU sideline and went to the injury tent, but on his way slammed his helmet in frustration.
