The LSU Tigers are the 2019 season national champions!

LSU defeated Clemson 42-25 behind quarterback Joe Burrow’s six total touchdowns. Burrow threw his 60th touchdown of the season Monday night. He had 16 passing touchdowns total in 2018. The LSU quarterback threw 16 touchdowns in the SEC Championship and two College Football Playoff games alone this season. Simply a remarkable turnaround and development.

This is Ed Orgeron’s program. Orgeron took over for Les Miles during the 2016 season as the team’s Interim Head Coach after the university fired Miles amidst a 2-2 start, and Orgeron hasn’t really ever looked back.

Orgeron landed Burrow, the former Ohio State quarterback, and hired Joe Brady to coordinate the Tigers passing game this season. Both Burrow and Brady took LSU’s program to another level under Orgeron’s watch.

Following LSU’s beat-down of Clemson in the championship, Miles congratulated the Tigers on winning the title.

Miles, now the head coach at Kansas, finished 3-9 in 2019. During his time in Baton Rouge, Miles finished 114-34 overall, including a 62-28 conference record and one national championship in 2007.
