LSU’s mascot, Mike VII, had a unique snack Friday night on the eve of the game against BYU — raw meat in the likeness of a Cougar.

The new mascot, who was found by LSU’s Attending Veterinarian, David Baker, DVM, Ph.D., was identified at a rescue facility. The male rescue tiger has Siberian and Bengal characteristics, is nine months old and weighs about 160 pounds.

The creativity of the snack and “meat artists” who assembled it drew rave reviews when it was unveiled.

The tiger previously lived at a sanctuary in Okeechobee, Fla..

Mike VI passed in October 2016 after battling cancer.
