LSU coach Ed Orgeron reveals his connection to Texas A&M QB Nick Starkel
Coach Ed Orgeron is a Louisiana man through and through, and still has deep ties to his home. But, when the LSU coach lines up on the opposite sideline from Texas A&M on Saturday, he’ll see a familiar face on the Aggies’ side of the field.
That’s because Texas A&M QB Nick Starkel grew up in the same area as the Orgeron family and is quite familiar with Coach O.
On Monday, Coach O said during his press conference that Starkel played football with his sons and was a frequent guest at the Orgeron house:
Texas A&M's QB Nick Starkel grew up with Orgeron's kids in Mandeville: "He has been to my house quite a bit." #LSU

He added that he’s proud of what Starkel has accomplished as a redshirt freshman this year, coming back from a broken ankle to regain the starting job in recent weeks:
O says Nick Starkel grew up with his sons, has been to his house often.
"So proud of him."

Starkel will have his work cut out for him against LSU’s defense, and it’s safe to say Coach O won’t take it easy on his old friend.
The Tigers will host the Aggies on Saturday night at 6:30 p.m. Central time. The game can be seen on the SEC Network.
