LSU is entering its first season since 2007 with Bo Pelini as its defensive coordinator after Dave Aranda left to take the head job at Baylor.
Pelini helped the Tigers’ defense lead the team to the 2007 title as coordinator, and now he’s back for another stint in Baton Rouge.
What has he learned during that time away as he’s coached at Nebraska and Youngstown State? He said he’s learned some tough lessons during that time:
Bo Pelini says heโs had to evolve with the game, but his personality hasnโt changed. The former Nebraska head coach says heโs learned a lot of lessons. โSome good. Some bad. Some tough.โ
โI do believe Iโm a better coach than the day I first left here.โ #LSU

We’ll see what Pelini wants to do in his first year back with the Tigers. He is already changing the defensive scheme from Aranda’s 3-4 back to his 4-3. However, Pelini said he’d have a few 3-4 plays worked in:
Bo Pelini says there still will be some 3-man fronts in #LSUโs defense, when the situation dictates, but theyโll mostly operate out of a 4-man front.

How will Pelini’s new defense look? Hopefully we’ll find out this fall!
