LSU fans clamoring for Devin White’s first-half suspension against Alabama to be overturned have put their money where their mouths are.

In less than 24 hours, a GoFundMe donors have already blown past the monetary goal to raise “#FreeDevinWhite” billboards near the SEC office in Birmingham. The campaign called for $2,305 to erect a billboard in downtown Birmingham or $1,845 for one on I-65, and there has already been enough money donated for both and then some.

Twitter user @LSUbradford has been documenting the billboards’ progress, and it looks like one was ready to go up Tuesday afternoon.

White will miss the first half of the Tigers’ Nov. 3 game against Alabama after being flagged for targeting Mississippi State quarterback Nick Fitzgerald last Saturday. White is arguably the best player on LSU’s defense, so the timing of his suspension and the controversial nature of the call have Tigers fans up in arms.

They’re emptying their wallets, too.
