It appears one LSU freshman signee won’t be playing any snaps for the Tigers.

DandyDon.com reports tight end signee Jalen Shead has left the team:

Shead “didn’t last a day.” He didn’t break any rules or anything, “he just didn’t want to be here,” a source told me.

Sonny Shipp of 247Sports similarly reports that Shead, out of Olive Branch (Mississippi), is “homesick.”

Shead committed to LSU on Aug. 30, 2020. His 247Sports recruiting profile shows 20 scholarship offers, including Alabama, Ole Miss and South Carolina.

Coming out of high school, Shead was rated 3-stars, the No. 14 Mississippi recruit, No. 53 tight end and No. 932 prospect overall nationally in the class of 2021 on the 247Sports Composite.
