LSU added a major prospect to its 2024 recruiting class on Friday morning.

The Tigers picked up a commitment from 4-star defensive lineman Gabriel Reliford. The Shreveport native was previously committed to Texas A&M.

Reliford backed off of his commitment to the Aggies last weekend following an official visit to LSU. The decision means the Tigers will keep one of Louisiana’s top prospects from leaving the state this cycle.

Reliford is the No. 277 overall player and the No. 24 Edge in the country for the class of 2024, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 8 player from the state of Louisiana.

He attends Evangel Christian Academy in Shreveport. He’s listed at 6-foot-2, 255 pounds.

LSU is now up to 27 commitments in the class of 2024, including 6 along the defensive line. Amongst those 6 defensive line commits, 4 of them are from the state of Louisiana.

Overall, LSU’s class currently sits at No. 14 nationally per 247Sports Composite rankings. The Early Signing Period begins on Dec. 20.
