LSU lands New Year’s commitment from Florida lineman Kimo Makaneole

LSU received good news as the clock struck midnight on New Year’s Eve.

Three-star offensive guard Kimo Makaneole committed to the Tigers over offers from Florida State, Mississippi State, Missouri and Ole Miss, among others.

The 6-foot-4, 285-pound lineman is from Niceville, Florida, and he’s ranked as the nation’s No. 28 offensive guard and the state of Florida’s No. 73 overall prospect for the class of 2021, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Makaneole is a former Florida State commit, who verbally pledged to the Seminoles on July 26; however, he backed off that commitment on December 28th and pulled the trigger to LSU just days later.

The lineman became LSU’s 22nd commitment or signee for the class of 2021 and the third from the state of Florida.
