As the LSU Tigers prepare for a huge game against Georgia this afternoon, news broke that an LSU legend had passed away.

Per the Green Bay Packers, legendary LSU and Green Bay RB Jim Taylor, a Baton Rouge native, died at the age of 83.

The Packers paid tribute to the legendary runner on their Twitter account, as you can see below:

Taylor was an All-American in 1957, sharing the LSU backfield with Billy Cannon. He then went on to an incredible career with the Packers, helping them win Super Bowl I. Per a release from the team, he was a longtime Packer record holder as well:

Taylor held the Packers’ career rushing record for 43 years. His club single-season record of 1,474 yards lasted 41 years. His single-game record of 186 yards, set in a Western Conference-clinching victory over the Giants in 1961, survived 36 years.

Taylor also had one of the lowest fumble rates in NFL history. He fumbled a mere 34 times in 2,166 touches, or once every 63.7 times he touched the ball.

Taylor was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1976, the first of Lombardi’s Packers to be so honored.

Rest in peace, Jim.
