With an eye toward returning to the South, Terrence Alexander is currently entertaining a few different SEC offers this spring.

After appearing in 27 games in his collegiate career for the Cardinal, the Stanford graduate transfer is being courted by both LSU and Tennessee this spring. According to Shea Dixon of Geaux 247Sports, Alexander is planning to visit Baton Rouge this weekend. A native of New Orleans, Alexander signed with Stanford over Notre Dame and Ole Miss coming out John Curtis Christian High School in the 2014 recruiting cycle.

Alexander visited Knoxville last month to see the Tennessee campus and meet Jeremy Pruitt’s Volunteer staff.

Both programs have a desperate need to add a veteran presence to its defensive backfield and both Ed Orgeron and Jeremy Pruitt have not shied away from adding players to their rosters via the transfer market. Joining LSU would make sense if Alexander wants to play close to home, while Tennessee has its own connection to New Orleans in receivers coach David Johnson.

During his Stanford career, Alexander registered one interception and seven passes defended. He has not set a firm date for his decision and is expected to join his next program this summer. He will be eligible immediately due to the NCAA’s graduate transfer rules.
