LSU’s video production and media creativity was just as good as its football team last season. And that’s saying something.

A handful of LSU hype videos went viral during the Heisman Trophy and leading up to and during the College Football Playoff, and the Tigers run (along with the hype reels) won’t soon be forgotten.

So, Southern California has decided to upgrade its video production, and it poached 2 LSU video production assistants, according to The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman.

“USC is hiring Jacob Brown, as Dir. of Football Video Production, and Will Stout, Assistant Dir of Football Video Production, sources tells me. They were part of the LSU digital team that produced those great hype videos last season that went viral,” Feldman wrote on Twitter.

USC’s program and brand used to be the biggest in college football under Pete Carroll; however, the Trojans have fallen by the wayside and taken a backseat to Oregon and others. LSU’s brand, meanwhile, couldn’t get any better.

Evidently USC thinks that if its hype videos are elite, the product on the field will follow. Regardless, USC’s video team will get a boost and LSU will need to replace some talent. That doesn’t seem to be too hard for Ed Orgeron.
