Brian Kelly’s LSU Tigers defeated the Arkansas Razorbacks by a score of 34-31 in the 2023 version of the Battle for the Boot. Jayden Daniels continued to impress and the defense made enough plays to win.

After the game, Kelly made several comments, including offering praise to Arkansas QB KJ Jefferson, saying the QB played “outstanding.”

The Tigers and Razorbacks both worn a “3” decal on their helmets in honor of Greg Brooks Jr., who recently underwent brain surgery. Kelly noted his appreciation to the Razorbacks for also wearing the decals, and said the whole team is praying for their teammate.

Kelly was complimentary of his QB, saying he played to a “high standard,” specifically in the 2nd half.

Daniels finished the day with 320 passing yards, 4 TDs, and 1 INT.

Finally, Kelly mentioned the ferocity of the matchup between these 2 teams. The veteran coach noted that this game is the 4th in a row that has come down to a field goal. Kelly explains that “it’s just the nature of the two teams.”

The games don’t get any easier for the Tigers. The team will next travel to Oxford to take on Ole Miss.
