There will reportedly be a Mississippi State reunion in Ann Arbor. According to FootballScoop, former Bulldog defensive back Stephen Adegoke is expected to leave Florida to join the Michigan staff.

Adegoke had been on Dan Mullen’s staff as a graduate assistant working with the defense. He would reportedly land a similar role on Jim Harbaugh’s staff.

Harbaugh recently added Maurice Linguist to his coaching staff as UM’s new defensive backs coach. Linguist coached safeties at Mississippi State in 2016.

Mullen recently replaced one of Adegoke’s other coaches from his Bulldog career. Ron English was safeties coach at MSU in 2017 and at Florida from 2018-20. English was let go this offseason and has landed at Purdue as the Boilermakers’ new defensive backs coach. English was replaced at Florida by Wesley McGriff.

Adegoke joined MSU in 2016, arriving from San Diego Mesa College in the JUCO ranks. He was originally a class of 2014 prospect out of South Gwinnett in Georgia.

Adegoke’s MSU bio shows he played in 16 games for the Bulldogs during the 2017 and ’18 seasons.
