WATCH: Jake Mangum becomes Mississippi State's all-time hits leader
Mississippi State center fielder Jake Mangum became the program’s all-time hits leader Friday night against Tennessee.
The senior outfielder knocked his 336th career hit passing former second baseman Jeffrey Rea, who had 335 hits from 2004-07. Mangum’s record breaking single came on a 2-2 tie against the Vols in the 10th inning, too.
Mangum leads the nation with 61 hits already, and it’s not just MSU records he’s chasing; it’s SEC records, and Mangum needs just 16 more hits to tie the SEC record of 352.
