Mississippi State’s offense had an abysmal showing in its 19-3 loss to LSU on Saturday night.

Bulldogs quarterback Nick Fitzgerald struggled, going 8-for-24 for 59 yards and four interceptions. Although the senior had 131 rushing yards, Mississippi State had only 260 yards of total offense.

“We have to find a way to be productive in the pass game,” Bulldogs coach Joe Moorhead said during his postgame press conference.

When asked if it’s fair to say that his team’s offense is currently one-dimensional, Moorhead said “right now, it’s accurate.”

Despite Fitzgerald’s struggles, Moorhead said he didn’t consider bringing in sophomore quarterback Keytaon Thompson to try to jump-start the offense.

Mississippi State scored three points in the first quarter, then got blanked by LSU the rest of the way.

The Bulldogs will look to bounce back when they host Texas A&M next weekend.
