Kirk Herbstreit puts out his top performers of the week each week.

Following a superb Week 11 showing, Mississippi State quarterback Will Rogers landed on the ESPN broadcaster’s list Monday.

Rogers threw for 415 yards and 6 touchdowns on Saturday as the Bulldogs rallied to shock the 16th-ranked Auburn Tigers in Jordan-Hare Stadium, 43-34. Mississippi State trailed by as many as 25 points in the second quarter before Rogers went bonkers in the second half.

He had 5 of his touchdown tosses in the game’s final 30 minutes. For the entire game, Rogers had just 11 incompletions in 55 attempts.

A second-year player from Brandon, Mississippi, Rogers has been the SEC’s most productive quarterback this season. Playing in a QB-friendly scheme, Rogers leads the league in passing yards (3,724; 699 more than 2nd place Bryce Young) and completion percentage (75.7%). His 29 touchdowns are 2nd-most in the league and tied for the 7th-most nationally.

At 6-4 on the season (4-3 in SEC play), the Bulldogs have secured a bowl berth with 2 games to play. They host Tennessee State on Saturday and then close the year with the Egg Bowl in Starkville on Nov. 25.
