Shawn Jones Jr., a 3-star recruit who committed to Texas State in September, has now announced a commitment to Mississippi State.

Jones, who is from Pearland, Texas, is listed at 6-foot-5 and 185 pounds, and last year shared his scouting report of himself with ZagsBlog. Jones, according to the 247Sports Composite, is ranked the No. 22 player in the state of Texas, and the No. 56 power forward in the class.

“I’m a player with a lot of energy and someone who takes pride in his defense,” Jones said. “I’m a player who’s trying to make the whole team look good and a player who’s a winner. (Bulldog) fans can expect someone who’s never going to give up on them and that’s going to put on for them wherever I go!”

Jones had offers that included Houston, LSU, Rice and TCU.
