Just when Barry Odom thought the staff hiring process was over, the new Mizzou head coach is back in the market for another assistant coach.

Defensive line coach Chris Wilson is leaving Mizzou to join Doug Pederson’s staff with the Philadelphia Eagles in the same capacity.

Wilson had only been with the Tigers for a handful of weeks as the replacement for longtime DL coach Craig Kuligowski. He came to Missouri after spending the 2015 season with USC.

And from the sounds of Pederson’s quote on the hire, it sounds like Wilson was pretty open to the idea of leaving Columbia before he really got settled.

Here is more of what Pederson had to say about making the hire, according to CSNPhilly.com:

“Sat down with him actually this morning and had a great interview with him,” Pederson said. “Jim Schwartz and I spent about 2½ hours with him and he’s got great attention to detail, fundamentals, he’s a technician.

“He’s worked with some of our guys before, he’s recruited some of our guys before. He’s very aware of the talent we have and he’ll fit our system well.”
