As quarterback for a 4-4 team with no conference wins, Drew Lock is pretty optimistic about the rest of this season.

Missouri’s signal-caller told reporters Tuesday that he believes the team can still make it to nine wins despite its middling star to the year. With four games remaining in the regular season, the Tigers would need to win out and get a victory in their bowl game to reach that mark.

Getting there would have been a lot easier had Missouri made one or two more plays in tight losses at South Carolina and against No. 11 Kentucky, the latter of which beat the Tigers on an untimed down last Saturday. But with fellow SEC cellar-dwellers Vanderbilt, Tennessee and Arkansas remaining on the schedule, nine wins isn’t completely off the table.

The biggest hurdle will be Saturday’s game at No. 13 Florida (6-2, 4-2 SEC). With Missouri’s other road game coming against rapidly improving Tennessee, the Tigers should probably be more concerned about making a bowl before considering how many wins they could attain.
