Eli Drinkwitz told reporters he had to channel his inner Kobe Bryant to answer a question regarding Mizzou’s satisfaction with their highest CFP era ranking.

The Missouri Tigers head coach has had an incredible season thus far, but the Tigers can pick up their biggest win under Drinkwitz by downing Georgia on Saturday. Of course, that’s easier said than done.

And with the reveal of the first CFP ranking of the season Tuesday, Mizzou came in at No. 12. Here’s what Drinkwitz had to say about that:

“No, I think I channel my inner Kobe Bryant. Job’s not done yet,” Drinkwitz said. “So I don’t necessarily think that any coach is sitting around looking at the rankings to start November. Obviously it’s just about where you’re at right now. But we still have a quarter of our season left to play, and not really focused on what we’ve accomplished to this point.”

The Tigers face off against Georgia at 3:30 p.m. on CBS.
