Eli Drinkwitz expresses confidence in Nate Peat, Harrison Mevis after devastating loss
Mizzou fans don’t have a lot to be confident about following Mizzou’s backbreaking loss to Auburn in Week 4.
Well, don’t tell Eli Drinkwitz that. The Tigers head coach expressed confidence in Nate Peat and Harrison Mevis after the devastating loss. Peat’s fumble at the goal line solidified Auburn’s win Saturday, while Mevis’ missed field goal allowed for overtime in the first place.
Drinkwitz spoke with media Tuesday afternoon on the pair.
Drinkwitz on Nate Peat’s fumble at Auburn: “We’re going to give him the ball again. That’s what we’re going to do. … To err is human.”
Says he needs to do a better job to teach players the point of emphasis of ball security.— Dave Matter (@Dave_Matter) September 27, 2022
Drinkwitz: “I have 100% confidence in Harrison Mevis.” Mentions his game-winner vs. Arkansas in 2020, game-tying FG at Boston College last year.
